Pastor Nikki Ramage – “Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath” – Verdugo Community Church June 23, 2024

Pastor Nikki Ramage, of Santa Barbara Free Methodist Church, in her message “Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath,” looks at two stories from Mark 6 revealing how Jesus interpreted this important aspect of the Law. Jesus rejected the legalistic, restrictive interpretation of the pharisees who saw Sabbath as a time to not do any work, not even to permit healing. Jesus reminded them, and us, that God in his love for us created the Sabbath so that we would have times of rest and refreshment. It is God who never stops his work of redemption and healing. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath, and he is Lord over all of our lives.
