Verdugo Community Church Easter Worship Service April 17, 2022
Sunday Apr 17, 2022
Sunday Apr 17, 2022
We begin our service in singing the Easter Song. Pastor Gail Whitcome Linstrom welcomes all to worship and to participate in the life of our church family. Dale Reynolds calls us to worship with a reading from Isaiah 9 and 25, and Pastor Gail opens us in prayer. Special Guest Music director Heidi Sandoval, accompanied by Mike Minasyan leads us in Easter praise and worship music. Greg Hart takes up the concerns of the church and our world in the Prayers of the People. Pastor Gail in her sermon, “The Tree of Life,” reminds us that God always brings life to our world. The eternal life found in the Tree of Life in Genesis 2 and 3 was lost to us through our sin. God continued to reach out to humanity and as described in John 1 finally directly intervened in the world through Jesus. The familiar passages in John 19 and 20 show that through the death and resurrection of Jesus we are restored to the promise of the Tree of Life, a hope made clear in Revelation 21 and 22. Pastor Gail then leads us in Communion, so you are invited to have bread or crackers and a beverage ready to participate in this sacrament.
Verdugo is again meeting in person and will make its Sunday service available to you online at this site and will post video copies of the sermon on Facebook at www.facebook.com/verdugochurch.
