VERDUGO COMMUNITY CHURCH WORSHIP SERVICE AUGUST 21, 2022

We begin our service in song. Pastor Gail Whitcome Linstrom welcomes all to worship and to participate in the life of our church family. Dale Reynolds and Michelle Hensley call us to worship with a responsive prayer based on Psalm 84. Nick Baltazar, Marvin Juan, and Mike Minasyan lead us in praise and worship music. Greg Hart takes up the concerns of the church and our world in the Prayers of the People. In his sermon, “Repairers of the Breach,” Andrew Mumm looks at the question of how to bring God close to us as set out in Isaiah 58:9 – 14. He reminds us that helping others in need and setting aside time to pray and worship is the answer given by Isaiah. He challenges us to look to Jesus’s example of how to live our lives. Pastor Gail then leads us in Communion, so you are invited to have bread or crackers and a beverage ready to participate in this sacrament.
