VERDUGO COMMUNITY CHURCH WORSHIP SERVICE AUGUST 7, 2022

We begin our service in song. Pastor Gail Whitcome Linstrom welcomes all to worship and to participate in the life of our church family. Dale Reynolds calls us to worship with a reading from Psalm 33, and Luisa Fernandez opens us in prayer. Guest Music Leader Joletta Sells accompanied by Mike Minasyan lead us in praise and worship music. Greg Hart takes up the concerns of the church and our world in the Prayers of the People. Pastor Gail, in her sermon, “Faith, Hope, Trust, Love: Kingdom Action Words,” looks at Hebrews 11 and Luke 12:22 – 40 where Jesus calls us into a new way of seeing and living, to become people not possessed by their possessions. Instead we are to become God’s Kingdom people living the Kingdom life making our faith, hope, trust in God and love for God and others action words.

 

Pastor Gail then leads us in Communion, so you are invited to have bread or crackers and a beverage ready to participate in this sacrament.
