VERDUGO COMMUNITY CHURCH WORSHIP SERVICE AUGUST 9, 2020

During these times of social distancing Verdugo Community Church is instead video recording its worship services and posting them on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/verdugochurch, and, as a podcast on this site.  Lead pastor Gail Whitcome Linstrom welcomes all to worship. Dale Reynolds leads us in the Call to Worship with a reading from Isaiah 43. Pastor Gail focuses us with an Opening Prayer, followed by Heidi Sandoval, our Music Director, leading us in praise music, accompanied by Vanessa Simon and Dan Coquia on vocals and Mike Minasyan on violin. Albert Ramseyer addresses the prayer concerns of the congregation in the Pastoral Prayer. Daniel Whipple, from Rose City Church in Pasadena, then challenges us to continue "Maintaining Focus", using Peter's story of walking on the water with Jesus in Matthew 14:22 - 33 as his text and applying it to today's world.  (The sermon is a separate podcast on this site.)  Pastor Gail then leads us in Communion, which you are encouraged to participate in at home. We look forward to the time when we can again safely meet with you in person and worship together.

Verdugo Community Church is a Free Methodist congregation located in and serving the Glassell Park, Eagle Rock and Glendale areas in Los Angeles.  It is located at 4300 Verdugo Road, Los Angeles, CA 90065.
