VERDUGO COMMUNITY CHURCH WORSHIP SERVICE FEBRUARY 12, 2023

We begin our service with song. Pastor Gail Linstrom welcomes all to worship and to participate in the life of our church family. Dale Reynolds calls us to worship with a reading from Psalm 19, and Luisa Fernandez opens us in prayer. Kim Cox, Jessica Jimenez, Mike Minasyan and Ed Manacop lead us in our praise singing. Greg Hart takes up the concerns of the church and our world in the Prayers of the People. In her sermon “Sabbath Keeping: Worship and Rest,” Pastor Gail explains the history and importance of God’s command that we keep one day a week as a Sabbath to him. God has done this as a gift to us to give us a time to rest from the cares of our normal life, and focus on our relationship with God and those that mean the most to us.

 

Pastor Gail then leads us in Communion, so you are invited to have bread or crackers and a beverage ready to participate in this sacrament.
