Verdugo Community Church Worship Service for April 10, 2022

We begin our service in song. Pastor Gail Whitcome Linstrom welcomes all to worship and to participate in the life of our church family. She explains the story behind “How Great Thou Art,” and it is sung as our opening prayer. Dale Reynolds reads Psalm 24 to complete our call to worship. Guest Music director Nicolas Baltazar, accompanied by Mike Minasyan leads us in praise and worship music. Christina Andriese, in her sermon “Jesus, Our Messiah,” begins with examples of how Empowering Lives International is changing the lives of people in East Africa by giving them both skills to earn their way out of poverty and a purpose in life from their relationship with Jesus. She invites us to look at Luke 19:28 – 38 and Zechariah 9:9 to realize that Jesus is our Messiah, too. That recognition allows us to receive who he is and what he wants to be for us. Pastor Gail leads us in Communion, so you are invited to have bread or crackers and a beverage ready to participate in this sacrament.
