Verdugo Community Church Worship Service for January 16, 2022
Sunday Jan 16, 2022
Sunday Jan 16, 2022
We begin our service with an instrumental medley. Pastor Gail Whitcome Linstrom welcomes all to worship and to participate in the life of our church family. Dale Reynolds calls us to worship with a reading from Psalm 119 and Albert Ramseyer opens us in prayer. Music Director Heidi Sandoval then leads us in praise and worship music. Greg Hart focuses us on the concerns and praises of the congregation in the Prayers of the People. Andrew Mumm looks at how in Luke 2 when the baby Jesus was presented to God at the Temple, Simeon was faithful to the leading of the Spirit to recognize the baby as the Messiah, and how Anna by being faithful was there to hear that prophecy and spread the good news. He urges each of us to follow their examples in his sermon “Recognize the Sound of God’s Voice.” Pastor Gail leads us in Communion, so you are invited to have bread or crackers and a beverage ready to participate in this sacrament.
In response to the latest Covid surge, Verdugo is temporarily suspending its in-person services but will continue making its Sunday service available to you online at this site and by livestream video on Facebook at www.facebook.com/verdugochurch.
