VERDUGO COMMUNITY CHURCH WORSHIP SERVICE JANUARY 1, 2023

Pastor Gail Linstrom welcomes all to worship and to participate in the life of our church family. Today the service is different, with passages of scripture followed by songs. Dale Reynolds calls us to worship with a reading from Ecclesiastes 3, and we join in a responsive opening prayer. Luisa Fernandez reads the Christmas story from Luke 1:1 – 20. Our praise team of Jessica Jimenez and Ed Manacop lead us in a song of response. Jessica reads from Isiah 63 regarding the promise of a savior, and she and Ed lead us in the responsive song. Pastor Gail then reads 2 Peter 1:1 –11 and leads a time of reflection and sharing on our Advent/Christmas experiences and our hopes for personal spiritual growth and Verdugo’s outreach in the coming yer. Greg Hart takes up the concerns of the church and our world in the Prayers of the People. After our final song of response, Pastor Gail then leads us in Communion, so you are invited to have bread or crackers and a beverage ready to participate in this sacrament.
