VERDUGO COMMUNITY CHURCH WORSHIP SERVICE JULY 17, 2022

Pastor Gail Whitcome Linstrom welcomes all to worship and to participate in the life of our church family. Dale Reynolds calls us to worship with a reading from Psalm 27,, and Albert Ramseyer opens us in prayer. Pianist Marvin Juan, accompanied by Vanessa Simon leads us in praise and worship music. Pastor Gail then formally receives Luisa Fernandez as a new member. Greg Hart takes up the concerns of the church family and our world in the Prayers of the People*. Pastor Gail in her sermon, “Immersed in Jesus’s Loving Presence,” takes us through the story of Jesus’s visit to Martha’s house in Luke 10 where the question of how we should respond to the teaching of Jesus comes into focus. Mary, who broke with tradition and sat at Jesus’s feet while he taught, chose the better way to respond, calling us to seek the presence of God in every aspect of our lives.

 

Pastor Gail then leads us in Communion, so you are invited to have bread or crackers and a beverage ready to participate in this sacrament.
