VERDUGO COMMUNITY CHURCH WORSHIP SERVICE JULY 23, 2023

We open our service with song. Pastor Gail Linstrom welcomes all to worship and to participate in the life of our church family then calls us to worship reading from Psalm 105. Nick Baltazar opens us with prayer. Nick Baltazar, Ed Manacop, and Mike Minasyan lead us in our praise singing. Albert Ramseyer takes up the praises and concerns of the church and our world in the Prayers of the People.

 

In his sermon, “The Art of Letting God,” Andrew Mumm looks at Ecclesiastes 11 and Matthew 13 to remind us that we need to surrender to God’s will and be present in the moment, trusting him to lead us through whatever is unfolding. We do not know how our efforts will turn out, and if we think we can go our own way, we will be disappointed. Letting go and accepting God’s direction is the sure way to live life.

 

Pastor Gail then leads us in the sacrament of communion, and you are invited to participate as well.
