VERDUGO COMMUNITY CHURCH WORSHIP SERVICE JUNE 18, 2023

We open our service with song. Pastor Gail Linstrom welcomes all to worship and to participate in the life of our church family, and Michelle Hensley calls us to worship with a reading from Psalm 27. Nick Baltazar and Mike Minasyan lead us in our praise singing and Nick Baltazar opens us in prayer. Greg Hart takes up the praises and concerns of the church and our world in the Prayers of the People.

 

In her sermon, “The Way to Pray through Life,” Pastor Gail looks at the Lord’s Prayer as found in Matthew 6 as more than words, but as a guide to how we should live as the children of God. We affirm that God is our father and we are his children and remember he is Holy and to be taken seriously. We are in the Kingdom of God here and now, not at some future time. We can ask God to provide us with what we need, but not be greedy. We should ask for forgiveness from God, and for the strength to forgive others, and to be preserved from temptation and rescued from evil.

 

Pastor Gail then leads us in the sacrament of communion, and you are invited to participate as well.
