VERDUGO COMMUNITY CHURCH WORSHIP SERVICE JUNE 25, 2023

We open our service with song. Pastor Gail Linstrom welcomes all to worship and to participate in the life of our church family, and Ben Jimenez calls us to worship with a reading from Psalm 34. Nick Baltazar and Mike Minasyan lead us in our praise singing and Luisa Fernandez opens us in prayer. Albert Ramseyer takes up the praises and concerns of the church and our world in the Prayers of the People.

 

In her sermon, “Pray, Pray, Pray,” Pastor Gail looks at the admonition for believers to pray found in 1 Timothy 2:1 – 7. This includes prayer for everyone, including those people and leaders that we do not like. When we pray, we may not get what we request but we do experience a closer relationship with God and discover God’s plan for building his Kingdom here on earth. Christian communities need to practice prayer for their members and their communities. At Verdugo Community Church as we work together to make disciples by loving and living in community with our neighbors, prayer is essential.

 

Pastor Gail then leads us in the sacrament of communion, and you are invited to participate as well.
