VERDUGO COMMUNITY CHURCH WORSHIP SERVICE MAY 19, 2024

We open our service with song. Pastor Gail welcomes all to worship and to participate in the life of our church family. Laura Vasquez calls us to worship with a reading from Psalms 104. Luisa Fernandez then opens us in prayer. Nick Baltazar and Ed Manacop lead us in our praise singing. Ed Manacop gives us a report on the just completed Annual Conference of the Free Methodist Church in Southern California. Greg Hart takes up the praises and concerns of the church and our world in the Prayers of the People.

 

Pastor Chris Dodridge in his sermon, “Unity In Diversity,” celebrates this Pentecost Sunday by reviewing Acts 2 to encourage us in our faith walk. He reminds us that the Holy Spirit came to all the believers in the first church when they were unified in prayer and fellowship, and they then testified to people from all the known world in their own languages, as Jesus had commanded. The Holy Spirit has never left us, and we should be aware of its leading and power in all of our life situations and with whoever God brings us in contact with, and go about spreading the good news with courage and hope.
