VERDUGO COMMUNITY CHURCH WORSHIP SERVICE SEPTEMBER 18, 2022

We begin our service in song. Pastor Gail Whitcome Linstrom welcomes all to worship and to participate in the life of our church family. Dale Reynolds calls us to worship by reading Psalm 23, and Luisa Fernandez opens us in prayer. Nicholas Baltazar and Mike Minasyan lead us in praise and worship music. Greg Hart takes up the concerns of the church and our world in the Prayers of the People. Pastor Gail in her sermon, “Parables of the Lost …. and Found,” looks at two parables by Jesus from Luke 15:1 – 10, those of the Lost Sheep and the Lost Coin. In each story what is lost is found and returned, to great joy in Heaven. Even when we wander away, God continues to seek after us and reconcile us to himself. As disciples, we too should care for the marginalized and hurting.

 

Pastor Gail then leads us in Communion, so you are invited to have bread or crackers and a beverage ready to participate in this sacrament.
