In his sermon, “Repairers of the Breach,” Andrew Mumm looks at the question of how to bring God close to us as set out in Isaiah 58:9 – 14. He reminds us that helping others in need and setting aside time to pray and worship is the answer given by Isaiah. He challenges us to look to Jesus’s example of how to live our lives. Pastor Gail, in her sermon, “Faith, Hope, Trust, Love: Kingdom Action Words,” looks at Hebrews 11 and Luke 12:22 – 40 where Jesus calls us into a new way of seeing and living, to become people not possessed by their possessions. Instead we are to become God’s Kingdom people living the Kingdom life making our faith, hope, trust in God and love for God and others action words.

Pastor Daniel Whipple – ”The Timing of God’s Economy” – Verdugo Community Church July 31, 2022

Pastor Daniel Whipple from Rose City Church returns to our pulpit in his sermon, “The Timing of God’s Economy,” looks at the Parable in Luke 12:13 – 21 of the foolish rich man who thought he could now relax, eat, drink, and be merry with his wealth, but instead died that night. Jesus warned against storing up treasures for ourselves, and not being rich toward God. While we may not be as rich as the man in the parable, we need to be creative in our use of our time, talents, and wealth to be generous toward God and others.

Dale Reynolds calls us to worship with a reading from Proverbs 8, and Nicolas Baltazar opens us in prayer.
