We begin our service with an instrumental prelude. Pastor Gail Whitcome Linstrom welcomes all to worship and to participate in the life of our church family and opens us in prayer. Dale Reynolds calls us to worship with a reading from Psalm 37. Music Director Heidi Sandoval then leads us in praise and worship music. Greg Hart focuses us on the concerns and praises of the congregation in the Prayers of the People. Pastor Daniel Whipple, from Rose City Church, looks at Jesus’ teachings about loving our enemies in Luke 6 to remind us that love is not meant to be passive, but requires us to reach out to others particularly those different and even hostile to us and our beliefs in his sermon, “Imaginative Love.” Pastor Daniel and Pastor Gail then lead us in Communion, so you are invited to have bread or crackers and a beverage ready to participate in this sacrament.
